EConsulting™
EConsulting™ is a black‐owned business that has been operating in Lexington, KY since 2006. Its founder Obiora Embry is a life‐long learner who was influenced by the Read the Labels campaign of his brother Irucka, and he started paying more attention to the ingredients in his food. He soon realized that food he had been purchasing from a local health foods store was not as "healthy" as he had once thought. Also too often when Obiora saw packaging on a product that would make him think it was home‐made, he would read the ingredients and be dissatisfied as there were too many ingredients in many of the products and some are not readily available to a home cook.
After tiring of eating healthy food with no flavor or too many ingredients, Obiora decided to make more of his own food using food that he grew and/or foraged. In doing so he combined his loves of growing food and being creative and started experimenting with lacto‐fermentation and making a wide variety of foods from scratch (tomato sauce, green tomato pickles, salsa, etc.) in 2006.
EConsulting™ has been making products for Getting Back to Nature™ since 2016. The food products are hand‐crafted in small batches with love using non‐GMO ingredients. In addition the labels are cut by hand, the food is picked by hand, canned by hand, and packaged by hand.
