Checked on our babies. Removed vining plants from Sumacs and Elderberries. I see a lot more fruit (on the Elderberries) has set during this hot and dry Summer than elsewhere that I have been! The Marshmallow looks good. I found more Boneset in the southern forest but did not see any Purple Coneflowers. I did not see as many rose hips as last year, possibly because of the heat?!

There has been a lot of growth since I was last here! The best looking potatoes are closer to the forest but I see some new growth. Will add soil later this month.

The ginger and turmeric look really good too! Had to add some more soil to some of them. I found one of the corn that I planted growing! I think that I found some peanuts growing too. I dispersed Coriander seeds to grow for the Fall.

I see at least four varieties of Goldenrod coming up. The native mint smells good! Did not find any of the melons.

Harvested Smooth Sumac fruit...it rained most of yesterday some of it is still a little wet. The Aronias look good and should hopefully have more growth next year. I think that I see a lot of Wild Senna growing...will have to verify (it was Common Selfheal).

Transplanted Shallot and Turnip near the Aronias.

Froze the Smooth Sumac.
