I saw a quail near the road when I first arrived this morning. Harvested and froze Yarrow leaves and flowers.

Near the large barren area I saw a small frog and was able to take a photograph of it. I also saw one near the back porch of the Big House yesterday. I also photographed the flowers of the wild rose, pear, and another tree I saw in the southern brush pile (for identification).

I dispersed Cattail around the large barren area and along the road into our two acres, including where the Gator got stuck in March. I also took some of the native mint seeds and dispersed them on the eastern edge of the northern brush pile and in the open area of the eastern forest edge.

On top of the pile of wood chips that I added about 2 years ago to the eastern forest edge I have transplanted the potatoes. I first transplanted the Inca Gold potatoes on the western edge. In the middle I put the La Ratte potatoes and on the eastern edge I put the Rosamunda potatoes. I covered the potatoes with the Fox Farm potting soil.

I covered the ginger and turmeric with the rest of the Fox Farm potting soil. I transplanted the O’Henry sweet potato slips between the area I cleared for the corn and the turmeric. To the south of the sweet potatoes I sowed Carolina African Runner peanuts. Around and near the barren area of the Aronias I planted the remaining Carolina African Runner peanuts.

I raked the basement steps and landing. I took the decomposing matter and emptied out in the large barren area. While raking I saw Earthworms and at least 1 spider. I am hoping that all of the Earthworms that I put into the yard waste bag will make a new home in the large barren area. I also saw an animal that came out of some of the leaves that was a crustacean with a tail and front pincers like a lobster (Looked it up in one of my books and it was a Pond Crayfish). I am not sure of where it eventually crawled.

I collected some large limbs that had fallen after they had died. I cut them up smaller and dispersed them in the eastern prairie region and also along the southern forest edge to further decompose.

To the north of the garlic I cleared a new area and broadcasted the rest of the Purple Top White Globe Turnip, White Egg Turnip, Mammoth Red Rock Cabbage, Italian Flat Leaf Parsley, and Slow Bolt Cilantro that I received from Mom last year.

Around the Indira Yellow Turmeric I broadcasted the rest of the Genovese Basil.
