Checked on our babies. I did find the Wild Strawberries in the northern brush pile and the berries are gone (not that I expected to find them). The Nootka Rose Garlic is looking really good! I did find some leafy Greens and Peas growing but not too many other seeds that I had sowed other than a Carrot or two. I could not find either Fig. The old growth Elderberries are looking okay as well as the Persimmons. I was able to find the Salem Rosemary (there is new growth) and the Greek Oregano. The Lavender has no new growth and I could not find the Garden Sage. The Prickly Pear was uprooted but I put back in the ground and tried to put the Lavender deeper into the soil. I found some new Flowering Dogwood trees! I did not see any of the Squash family nor Legumes growing. I did find a Blueberry plant (I guess one of the original ones that I transplanted) with lots of growth and unripe berries (near the need to be removed Autumn Olive trees).
Hazelnuts were transplanted in the western part of the northern brush pile, near the northeastern forest edge (South of where I had removed an Autumn Olive), and East of the southern brush pile.
Transplanted the following: Indian Pink along the northwestern edge of the southern brush pile, Rough‐leaved Dogwood along the southeastern forest edge, Hairy Alumroot in the somewhat rocky part of the southern brush pile, Spicebush in the northeastern part of the northern brush pile, Steeplebush East of the creek, Tupelo East of the western creek, Prairie Rose in a wet but drained area of eastern area, Swamp Rose in wet area South of the Prairie Rose, Rosa’s Blush Blueberry East of the Blueberries and South of the Flowering Dogwoods, Southern Crab Apple North of a Hazelnut near the forest edge, Common Buttonbush in the western creek area, and Witch Hazel in an eastern wet area.
Removed unwanted vegetation.
